Pitted Polished Plaster

Pitted polished plaster resembles lightly honed limestone, or equally concrete.

Pitted polished plaster has granular marble chips integrated into the mix of lime putty and marble dust. The plaster can be pre-tinted to a desired colour and the tones and grains can be enhanced with the addition of translucent colourwashes and pearlesent glazes. This gives an almost unlimited colour choice.

Two coats are applied to a layer of key-coat plaster to a total depth of approximately 3mm. Expert troweling works the plaster into peaks, which are then flattened and polished. 'Aqua wax' is then applied to seal the plaster, enhance shine and repel water and stains.

The finish produced is subtle and extremely flattering to walls and proves to be a great backdrop for people, pictures and products. The pitted finish looks great when used for extremely realistic stone blocking. It suits light stony colours combines superbly with pearlesent glazes.
