Travertine Polished Plaster

Travertine polished plaster, as its name implies simulates natural travertine stone.

Three coats of plaster are applied to a depth of approximately 3mm. The textured plaster of granular marble chips, lime putty and marble dust is troweled and worked with movement to produce the travertine look, and is then polished.

The surface produced is very directional and appears to have movement. It has an open texture and grain and it looks as though it is made up of a number of tones.

To finish a coat of Aqua wax, colourwash or pearlescent glaze is applied to seal and enhance tones and textures.
