For this contemporary kitchen project we applied two coats of pitted polished plaster to a base layer of key-coat plaster, creating a total plaster depth of around 3mm. Using expert trowelling methods we worked the plaster into peaks which were then flattened out and polished. We then applied a layer of Aqua Wax to seal the plaster, bring out the shine and repel water and staining – essential in a kitchen.

The finished effect is at once subtle and extremely flattering. This look is a superb backdrop for people, pictures and products and domestic as well as commercial environments. Pitted polished plaster is very well-suited to light, stone-based colours which complement its natural pearlescent glaze charmingly.
